KLI conference 2018 for members

March 20, 2018 - Dear KLI members and conference speakers,

With this email we cordially invite you to register for the Kurt Lewin Institute Conference, on Tuesday April 24 and Wednesday April 25, 2018 in conference centre Woudschoten in Zeist. Please find below the provisional conference program and a registration link.

Keynote speakers
Keynote speakers of this conference are: Gregory Walton (Stanford University), Bianca Beersma (VU University Amsterdam), and Karin Roelofs (Radboud University Nijmegen).

Conference themes
There will be four thematic sessions with speakers from the various participating universities and all levels of seniority, a poster session preceded by plenary flash talks, and of course many occasions to just socialize and catch up with colleagues. As you may know, Kurt Lewin is said to have coined the famous expression 'There's nothing as practical as a good theory', and he was one of the first to argue that applied research can be conducted with rigor and that one can test theoretical propositions in applied research. In honor of the institute's name bearer, we therefore pay special attention throughout this year's conference program to the many KLI projects that reach out to society.
Each theme is organized and chaired by two theme chairs. This year the conference themes are

1. Identity & Diversity
Nina Hansen (University of Groningen) and Jojanneke van der Toorn (University of Leiden / Utrecht University).
2. Social class, status, hierarchy
Hillie Aaldering (University of Amsterdam) and Niels van Doesum (University of Leiden).
3. Interpersonal communication
Gert-Jan Lelieveld (University of Leiden) and Reine van der Wal (Utrecht University).
4. Autonomy & motivation
Michiel van Elk (University of Amsterdam) and Hans Marien (Utrecht University).

Poster Session
The poster session was created to accommodate the desire of members who are not part of a thematic session to contribute actively to the conference program. Just like the conference themes the poster session will cover the full breadth of social and organizational psychology, incorporating all levels of analysis.

Best Paper Award
Traditionally, in the afternoon of the 2nd conference day the KLI Best Paper Award will be awarded, and the winner will present his / her paper.

Registration
To register, please do so by following the link below before April 1st, 2018.
After completing your registration, you are directed to an online payment facility. After making your payment, you will receive a confirmation of your registration and payment by email for your own administration.
