Summary

This dissertation project entails studies in the field of workplace-based assessment, in particular for medical students, and focuses on the processes underlying judgement and decision making in this type of assessment. The aim of the project is to ensure a fair and just method of assessing all our future doctors, including those from non-traditional social and/or ethnic backgrounds. This PhD project consists of experimental studies to explore potential biases in judgment and decision-making and of interventional studies focused at improving the current assessment methods.
